DIES FOR BRICKS
COMPACT SYSTEM DIES
Through the analysis of shapes, data, and the elements involved in extrusion, we have developed the “Compact” system die at Latermec — a compact and functional solution.

Many kilns have adopted the “Compact” system, achieving significant benefits in energy savings and productivity. The “Compact” system, in all its versions (Compact 1-2-3), features:
- Conical inlet to facilitate material compression during extrusion
- Effective braking system with minimal overall dimensions
- Easily removable conical bridge
- Mask (frame) detachable separately from other elements
In addition to its technical innovations, the Compact system offers valuable advantages during extrusion:
- Optimal extrusion with lower energy consumption
- Improved mechanical strength of the brick
- Better drying capability
- Production optimization

WATER-COOLED DIES
Water-cooled dies are the optimal solution for solid brick extrusion.
The die with water (or other liquid) lubrication system provides the best response to issues inherent in solid brick extrusion; this system facilitates and improves brick extrusion by reducing friction, which tends to increase with this type of product.
Lubrication occurs through a pair of plates with specific grooves; the liquid (usually tap water) acts as an accelerator during extrusion, reducing friction by forming a thin film between the die frame and the brick.
